Union City Borough Council approved using $39,060.20 in federal ARPA funds to cover stormwater repairs in Municipal Lot #1 and to close off a catch basin in Hogan’s Alley.
Borough Manager Cindy Wells told council the Borough’s total ARPA balance is $194,413, with $160,000 previously designated for the Willow Street Bridge. Wells said about $25,000 of that bridge allocation has already been spent, leaving a balance of roughly $59,413. Councilor Joyce moved to apply ARPA funds to the Municipal Lot #1 stormwater work; Councilor Steadman seconded and the motion carried. The action was recorded as part of ongoing efforts to address localized drainage and reduce future maintenance costs.
