The Tell City Common Council adopted an amendment to the 2026 salary ordinance and approved additional appropriations (2026‑13) to fund raises and several one-time needs.
Clerk Treasurer Connie summarized the appropriations package and told council she had included funding for employee wage increases previously approved (a $0.50/hour raise for covered employees, excluding certain elected/appointed positions). In response to prior discussion on pool repairs, Connie requested and the council approved a $200,000 appropriation from the general fund plus an additional $75,000 from the capital-development fund to cover anticipated pool repair expenses; she noted that bills are still arriving and the total may require additional adjustments.
Connie said a LOIT public-safety line also required a $17,000 appropriation for a taser-gun lease. After the appropriations, she told council the unappropriated general-fund balance would be reduced to roughly $400,000. Council approved the appropriations by voice vote.
Separately, Councilor Larry asked staff to prepare an additional‑appropriation estimate for planning and zoning salaries (planning commission, recording secretary, BZA members) so the council can consider that item on the September agenda.
