Story County approves voluntary annexation of 22.45 acres to City of Nevada

On March 24, 2026, the Story County Board of Supervisors approved Resolution #26‑76 to voluntarily annex 22.45 acres of county‑owned land to the City of Nevada.
Leanne Harter, Planning and Development Director, told the board the annexation parcel is adjacent to the existing corporate limits and is designated as Natural Resource Areas and Agricultural Conservation on the Capstone Comprehensive Plan (C2C) future land use map. Harter said staff found all conditions and requirements for voluntary annexation had been met; the parcel is recorded as Parcel “L” in the Story County Recorder’s office (instrument #2024‑05745, recorded 08/13/24).
Supervisor Lisa Heddens moved to approve Resolution #26‑76; Supervisor Latifah Faisal seconded and the motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote. The resolution was approved as presented and will take effect upon signature. The board did not amend conditions or set additional requirements during the motion.
