Story County adopts land‑use text amendment to address battery and energy storage

The Story County Board of Supervisors approved Third Consideration of Ordinance No. 330 on March 17, amending Chapter 85 (general provisions and definitions), Chapter 86 (district requirements), Chapter 88 (site planning standards) and Chapter 90 (conditional uses) of the Story County Code of Ordinances to address uses for battery and energy storage solutions on properties located in unincorporated Story County.
Leanne Harter, Director of Planning and Development, reviewed the modifications the Board made during earlier considerations and explained the ordinance will be effective upon publication. Murken opened the hearing at 10:13 a.m. and, hearing none, closed it at 10:13 a.m. Faisal moved and Murken seconded to approve Third Consideration; the motion carried on a roll-call vote.
