Parks staff provided a run-down of maintenance and program updates: the non-motorized boat ramp has been cleared of debris and is open; new memorial benches and metal picnic tables are being installed in several parks; and staff are preparing for summer events and programs.
"All splash pads are getting ready to be turned on by May 23," staff reported, weather permitting. Staff also said splash-pad attendants have been hired earlier than usual and that several summer programs and camps already have wait lists.
Operations staff noted a wet well pump malfunction forced temporary restroom closures at one site; porta-potties were scheduled for delivery the next day and crews are working on repairs. Parks staff said they will track field and facility needs as the condition assessment completes so future rental and capacity questions can be better answered.
