Board approves provisional internship permit and variable-term waiver for two teacher candidates

Will Sandoval explained that the district had searched for fully qualified candidates and recommended public notice for a provisional intern permit for a special-education candidate who has completed some coursework toward subject-matter competency and is enrolled in a credential program. After questions about qualifications, a board member moved and the board approved the permit.
Sandoval then described a separate variable term waiver for a candidate with a degree in visual and performing arts who is seeking credentialing to teach outside that degree area. Board members briefly discussed qualifications and then approved the waiver by roll call.
Both votes were presented as routine compliance with CTC public-notice requirements; no additional conditions or amendments were recorded.
