Makanda keeps liquor license year as written; Apple Creek to pursue renewal paperwork

The Village of Makanda Board discussed a liquor license renewal request from Apple Creek Golf Course and whether to change the license year. The board recalled a prior discussion from April 5, 2021 about moving license dates but had not completed legal follow-up; after discussion the trustees agreed to leave the license year as defined by Liquor License Ordinance 2001-5 (May 1 through April 30).
President Tina Shingleton said she would meet with Apple Creek Golf Course to collect the necessary renewal paperwork and the renewal fee ahead of the license expiration on March 31. The board recorded no objection to keeping the ordinance's existing license dates.
