Board reviews interior modifications, therapy swing and safety measures for Little Roots

Board members asked technical questions about interior alterations needed to install a therapy swing and maintain safety systems. Sarah Green explained the therapy swing "has to be mounted into the trusses" and that the plan calls for removing a roughly 4-by-4-foot ceiling grid area, anchoring plywood to the trusses and installing a skirt so the finished ceiling looks uniform.
Mark Lantrue said the team inspected the HVAC trunk and that one flex duct will be shifted about 8 inches to clear the installation. Board members and staff noted the plaza does not have a sprinkler system; the applicant and manager said smoke detection will be provided in the modified section. The board approved the site plan and noted that final construction details and any required permitting conditions must be coordinated with planning staff before work begins.
