The South Weber Planning Commission on June 11 voted unanimously to recommend the City Council approve a rezone request for property at approximately 515 E 6650 S owned by Gary Archuleta. Community Development Manager Lance Evans told the commission the parcel is about 1.06 acres and currently contains a single‑family home built in 1980. Evans said the rezone would allow the property to be subdivided into two residential lots and that a subdivision application complying with city standards will be required before any lot split occurs. Applicant Gary Archuleta thanked the city and said, “My plan is to rezone and then eventually a one lot subdivision.” The motion text stated the change from A (Agricultural) to R‑M (Residential Moderate Density), though staff’s description during the hearing also referred to R‑L (Residential Low Density); commissioners voted on the motion as moved and recommended the Council consider the application.
