The Board of Education of Independent School District No. 93 in Shawnee voted to enter an executive session on April 12, 2025 to interview applicants for the position of Superintendent of Schools. Member Turner Bass moved and Clerk Jeanne Swinney seconded "to enter executive session to interview applicants for the position of Superintendent of Schools, pursuant to 25 O.S. $ 307(B)(1)," and the motion carried with six votes in favor, none opposed and one absence; the board entered executive session at 12:31 p.m.
Board President Clif Harden said after the meeting that the matters discussed in executive session were those listed under agenda item B and that no votes were taken during the closed session. The minutes record the board returned to open session at 4:13 p.m. and that an applicant attended the executive session; the applicant is not named in the minutes. The motion to enter executive session and the recorded vote appear in the official minutes.
