During the appointments portion of the agenda, council considered nominations and closed and appointed multiple candidates to advisory boards and regional authorities. Council member Ritter nominated David L. Barlow for the animal control supervisor (non-voting) role, and Kim Bogan was nominated as the health-department representative to the Chesapeake Commission on Health and Well-being. Michael J. Koss was nominated and appointed to the Chesapeake Land Bank Authority for a financial/banking background seat.
The council also named representatives to the Eastern Virginia Regional Industrial Facility Authority and other local advisory bodies; motions to close and appoint were carried during the session, following standard nomination and seconding procedures.
