The Board of Education of Independent School District No. 698 met July 27, 2026, at Floodwood Services and Training and approved a series of administrative and safety items, along with inter-district service agreements and donations. Chair Leanaya Miller called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM; Trustee Tracy Hutchinson and others carried a set of motions by unanimous voice vote throughout the evening.
Key approvals included final adoption of the 2026-2027 Student Handbook, Employee/Activities Handbook and Preschool Handbook; confidential 2026-2027 Crisis Manual and Crisis Communication Plan; the Floodwood School Cardiac Emergency Response Plan and Floodwood School Food Safety Plan; and FY27 IASC agreements for Special Education, Technology Service and Student Support Cooperative services. The board also approved consent-agenda items that included the acceptance of two loads of ag lime for the ball fields and a $50,000 Educational Improvement Grant from Lake Country Power for new stage lighting and sound.
