Board certifies tax levy, approves contracts and school liaison agreement

The ISD 2071 School Board took several formal votes at the Sept. 15 meeting, recorded as unanimous approvals in the minutes.
Notable actions: the board approved the proposed 2025 Payable 2026 Property Tax Levy to the maximum amount and directed certification to the County Auditor and the Minnesota Department of Education by Sept. 30, 2025. The board also approved the low bid from Caretakers, Inc. for snow removal for the 2025–26 winter, authorized non-public/out-of-district transportation contracts for parents transporting their children to non-public schools, approved Assurance of Compliance with State and Federal Law Prohibiting Discrimination, and approved an agreement with the City of Lake Crystal for the city to provide a school liaison officer for LCWM schools. In addition, the board approved changing the November secondary parent/teacher conference date from Nov. 4 to Nov. 3.
Each motion was moved and seconded as recorded (examples include the levy motion by Rose, second by Paul) and the minutes note that motions carried unanimously. Where specific roll-call tallies were not recorded, the minutes state unanimous approval; member Hoeft was absent for the meeting.
