Elementary principal reports large community turnout for events, screenings completed with partners

Elementary Principal Dan Beert told the board that the elementary year began with strong community participation. He said the Donuts with Dad event drew more than 700 attendees and that the All-School Grill-Out featured locally sourced beef from S & J Farms. Beert also reported successful Fire Prevention Week activities with the Lake Crystal Fire Department and that routine hearing and vision screenings were completed with help from nursing and audiology students and volunteers.
Beert expressed appreciation for Nurse Jess's 12 years of service to the district and noted robust enrollment in preschool and ECFE programs. He said homecoming and routine safety drills have proceeded without incident and praised custodial and support staff for their efforts this fall.
