Benson provided a status update on referendum-funded facility projects. He said the metal cap at the secondary building is expected to be completed next week, site work around the building is continuing, and the installation of an eighth compressor is underway and should be operational soon. A recent track inspection found a slight texture difference near the bleachers attributable to humidity during application rather than a structural defect; with a new base layer the track is projected to have a 25–30 year life expectancy with planned additional layers at years eight and sixteen. He said Johnson Controls is on site daily to address temperature regulation issues and staff are working toward a permanent solution.
