Board approves safety plan, FFA advisor MOU, Project Momentum and other routine items

The board approved a suite of administrative items on May 18, 2026, including a district Cardiac Response Plan, an MOU to retain Curt Gjerstad as FFA advisor for 2026–2027, Project Momentum and a Special Education workload clause MOU. Each motion passed unanimously following routine motions and seconds.
Trustee Hollenkamp moved and Zastrow seconded approval of the 2026–2027 Cardiac Response Plan developed by Resource Trainings and Solutions. The board also approved the MOU for the FFA advisor (Curt Gjerstad) and accepted Project Momentum to help teachers obtain ESL licensure alongside the Special Education workload clause MOU. Trustee Zastrow moved to accept the superintendent evaluation results; the motion was adopted unanimously. Superintendent Ludvigson told the board the district hopes to have a principal in place by July 1, 2026 as part of ongoing staffing plans.
Other routine approvals included hiring multiple staff members, accepting resignations, reviewing policies 585 and 427, approving the Food Service Director contract, and endorsing MSHSL membership for 2026–2027. The board congratulated graduates and closed the meeting at 7:44 p.m.
