The Menahga Public School Board approved multiple staffing contracts for the 2026–2027 school year, including teacher contracts (Heidi Swenson, Melody Rasmussen), paraprofessionals (Paige Rousu, Sophia Keranen) and a series of coaching appointments across wrestling and basketball, after adopting the consent agenda on June 18.
Item 3.9, Volunteer Wrestling Coach Kris Koll, was removed from the consent agenda on a motion by David Treinen for separate consideration. On the separate roll-call the board recorded a 1–5–0 vote (Sara Makela in favor; Katie Howard, Andrea Haverinen, Julia Kicker, Cherie Peterson and David Treinen against) on approval of Kris Koll, which the minutes record as the final tally for that item. Other volunteer coaches (Terry Weller, Nate Hendrickson, Ethan Hendrickson) and assistant coaches were approved as part of the consent actions.
The staffing approvals listed step placements for several positions (for example, Heidi Swenson MA step 2; Melody Rasmussen BA step 1) and included both paid and volunteer coaching roles.
