Board approves MOU with CSEA to implement four-day school week

The Stony Creek Joint Unified School District Board of Education approved a memorandum of understanding with the California School Employees Association (CSEA) to implement a four-day school week.
Board member Krystal Craven moved to approve the signed MOU, and Meagan Groteguth seconded; the motion passed by a vote of 4-0 with one vacant seat. Student Representative Kaleb Reagan presented student-collected data on meal preferences and told the board he "encouraged the Board to begin advertising the 4-day school week." The motion and tally were recorded during the board's Nov. 19 meeting at Elk Creek High School.
District leaders did not detail implementation dates or operational changes in the public minutes. The board also set follow-up items elsewhere on the agenda related to staffing and schedules. The board scheduled its next regular meeting for Dec. 16, 2024.
