On Nov. 15, 2024, the Fridley Public School District Board adopted a resolution canvassing the Nov. 5 special election returns and declared SCHOOL DISTRICT QUESTION 2 carried. The resolution records that 4,390 voters approved the authorization to issue school building bonds for school acquisition and betterment, while 3,245 voters opposed the question.
The resolution directs the district clerk to certify the results to the county auditors in each county containing part of the district and to notify the Minnesota Commissioner of Education of the results within 15 days. The board later voted 6-0 to accept the canvassing returns by motion.
The board did not take additional actions on bond issuance at the special meeting; the canvass and certification steps memorialize the official outcome of the ballot question.
