Auditor Sandra L. Morton presented a sworn affidavit from County Recorder Jaclyn McPherron certifying that the statutory purposes of the Recorder’s Perpetuation Fund (I.C. 36-2-7-10) have been satisfied. Morton requested the Council adopt Ordinance 2026-11, which would authorize the Recorder to use excess perpetuation fund revenue during 2027 to pay other Recorder office expenses if funds remain after required uses.
Deena J. Lewis moved to adopt Ordinance 2026-11; Sonya Haas seconded and the motion carried unanimously. The ordinance states it is effective only for calendar year 2027 and is based on the Recorder’s sworn statement that excess revenue exists and the fund’s statutory purposes are satisfied.
