The commenter said such a venue "could repeat this movie" of past neighborhood complaints about music, events and alcohol, and recommended council review municipal noise-control rules in chapter 8 of the city code and police-report history when evaluating any liquor-license application.
"If there's a liquor license application applied for ... you will now have a business literally in a neighborhood serving alcohol to the general public," the resident said, urging extra scrutiny and suggesting council consider restrictions or conditions if the venue proceeds. Council acknowledged the concern; no licensing decision was made at the meeting.
