NEVIS Public School District board begins superintendent evaluation planning in transition workshop

At an Aug. 18 work session, MSBA facilitator Amy Jordan led the NEVIS Public School District board through a transition workshop and the board agreed to review evaluation standards ahead of finalizing and adopting a superintendent evaluation at its Sept. 22 meeting.
The Board of Independent School District 308 met in Superintendent Ranae Seykora's office on Aug. 18, 2025, to begin planning the superintendent evaluation process. Amy Jordan from MSBA led members through a Board/Superintendent Transition Workshop and the evaluation Standards and Elements in the packet provided by MSBA.
Board members — Andy Lindow, Aimee Plumley (Clerk), Karrin Lindow, Ben Hass and virtual participant Jen McNamee — agreed to review the Standards and Elements between the Aug. 18 work session and the Sept. 15 work session and to come prepared to discuss and identify priorities specific to ISD 308. The board recorded that the agreed-upon evaluation will be documented and adopted at the regular Sept. 22, 2025 school board meeting.
The board reviewed a proposed annual review timeline that would set priorities in July–August work sessions, include an informal January check-in, use a June work session (closed session) for review, and provide a summary at the June regular meeting. Members also discussed logistical items related to the district's upcoming staff meal and regular meeting agendas during the session.
No motions or formal votes were recorded in the work session transcript. The board scheduled the next regular meeting for Aug. 25, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. in the Media Center and via Zoom.
