The Long Prairie–Grey Eagle School Board voted 5–2 on June 15 to approve a Solar Grant Resolution after a presentation from Ideal Energy.
Rich Ragatz of Ideal Energy explained the grant and answered questions about fencing, erosion control and mowing around the proposed solar panels. The minutes note "there were questions that have come up on the fence, erosion and mowing around the panels" and that "community member concern for the people that are living close by" was raised during the discussion. Zahnow moved to approve the resolution; Hollenkamp seconded. Hollenkamp, Wolf, Gohman, Zastrow and Zahnow voted yes; Levin and Wright voted no.
Board members did not record amendments to the resolution in the minutes. With the vote the district moves forward with the grant process; the minutes do not list an implementation schedule or final construction dates.
