Cawthon elected president; vice president and secretary races tabled at Carbondale ESD 95 reorganization

The newly seated Carbondale ESD 95 board elected Corey Cawthon as president April 28, 2025. Nominations for vice president and secretary failed and the board tabled those offices until the May meeting.
At the April 28 special meeting, Catherine Field moved and John Major seconded the nomination of Corey Cawthon for board president; a voice vote recorded yes votes from Field, Greer, McHenry, Oliver, Major and Cawthon and the motion carried, making Cawthon board president.
Nominations for vice president and secretary did not produce a winner. Tangela Oliver’s nomination of Imani McHenry for vice president failed on a show‑of‑hands vote (yes: Greer, McHenry, Oliver; no: Field, Cawthon, Major). Corey Cawthon’s subsequent nomination of Catherine Field for vice president also failed (yes: Cawthon, Major, Field; no: Greer, Oliver, McHenry). The board tabled action on the vice president’s office until the May meeting. A separate nomination of McHenry for secretary failed and that office was likewise tabled.
