Carbondale Elementary School District No. 95 certified the April 2025 school board election and swore in newly elected trustees during a special meeting April 28, 2025, at the John Major Learning Center. The board adopted the county’s certified results, which listed vote totals including Dr. Renada Greer (1,263), Corey Cawthon (1,000), Catherine Field (982), Imani McHenry (780), Tangela Oliver (729) and John Major (100); Marshall Hunt (711) and Paulette Sherwood (696) were also listed in the county tally. The board adopted the results by voice vote.
Shane Jones administered the oath of office to Catherine Field, Corey Cawthon, Imani McHenry, Tangela Oliver, Dr. Renada Greer and John Major. Recording secretary Jerri Adkinson then called the roll for the newly seated board. President Catherine Field thanked departing member Aimee Wigfall, saying, “We wish to thank Aimee Wigfall for her 2 years of service to the District.” Field later announced, “The 2024-2025 Board is officially retired.”
