The Osseo Area Schools board voted to accept gifts to the district totaling $45,608.43, thanking donors and community contributors.
The board also received a first reading from General Counsel Amy Moore on a slate of policy updates that will be published for public comment and returned next month for action. Updates include a title change and clarifications to Transportation Policy 707 (bus stop assignments, driver responsibilities, and camera policy), adjustments to the attendance‑area policy (Policy 725) to operationalize superintendent roles, changes to the crisis management and health & safety procedures (including drill language), and minor edits to policies on tobacco, chemicals, website publishing, and possession of dangerous weapons on school property. Moore noted the district is preparing an AWARE (workplace accident and injury reduction) committee in advance of an upcoming requirement and that OSHA has reviewed the district plan.
Moore said procedures will be refined for clarity and the policy packet will be open for public comment before final action next month.
