Board honors 77 retirees; superintendent outlines graduations and district events

The Osseo Area Schools board paused its business to recognize retiring staff members for the 2024–25 school year. Superintendent Kim Heil said 77 individuals across classifications were retiring or had retired between July 2024 and June 30, 2025, bringing a reported cumulative total of 1,670 years of district service.
"These 77 individuals have served a cumulative total of 1670 years of service to the scholars and families," Heil said during the recognitions. Several retirees were called forward by the board secretary and names and service lengths were read aloud; service totals ranged from around 11 years up to 38 years for several long‑tenured teachers and staff.
Heil also highlighted district points of pride and upcoming events: student art competition placements, greenhouse projects at the Osseo Education Center plant sale, the Powwow Wachipi celebration, and a planned Indigenous pre‑K opening in fall 2027. Graduation ceremonies for various programs were scheduled between May 30 and June 9 and details were posted at district279.org/graduation.
