Council accepts Maple Grove Fire-Rescue Community Risk Assessment and Standards of Cover study

Councilmember Mike Ostaffe reviewed the prior work session discussion about the Fire Department’s Community Risk Assessment and Standards of Cover Study and moved that the council accept the June 2026 report prepared by Fitch & Associates. Acting Fire Chief Bill Abderhalden had previously explained operational and facility implications for meeting community needs; the council approved acceptance of the study on a unanimous vote.
The report acceptance directs staff to incorporate the study’s recommendations into Fire Department planning and any related budget or staffing discussions. The action was removed from the consent agenda for this brief discussion prior to approval.
