Maple Grove EDA administers oaths, appoints 2026 officers

The Maple Grove Economic Development Authority administered oaths of office and formally appointed its 2026 officers at its May 18 meeting. City Attorney Justin Templin administered the oath to board members, and Secretary Heidi Nelson told the board that “EDA By-Laws and Minnesota Statute § 469.095 et seq. require the establishment of EDA annual appointments.”
Vice President Kristy Janigo moved, Commissioner Jon McCullough seconded, to appoint the officers: EDA President/Treasurer Mark Steffenson; EDA Vice President/Assistant Treasurer Kristy Janigo; EDA Secretary Heidi Nelson; and EDA Commissioners Rachelle Johnson, Mike Ostaffe, and Jon McCullough. President Steffenson called the motion; the minutes record "five ayes and no nays," and the motion carried. The by-laws, as recited by Secretary Nelson, specify that the EDA President/Treasurer shall be the City Mayor, the Vice President/Assistant Treasurer shall be the Acting Mayor, and the Secretary shall be the City Administrator.
