Chief School Business Official Janiece Blake updated the board on multiple facilities projects. Blake said Parrish and CMS resource center construction is underway, that the Lewis modular installation is complete and staff are organizing the new space, and that turf underlayment and final surfacing work have begun in some areas.
Blake also described installation problems at Thomas playground: missing and damaged swing-set components and two basketball goals and a shade structure installed in the wrong location. She said the contractor will relocate items and the manufacturer has been asked to replace damaged parts, and that off-street parking plans for Parrish remain under review with city officials.
