Board approves vision evaluation agreement with Complete Family Eyecare

The board voted to approve an agreement with Complete Family Eyecare of Carbondale to identify and provide vision evaluations for district students in need, effective Sept. 30, 2025, through June 30, 2026. The motion was moved by Catherine Field and seconded by Renada Greer; the roll-call vote was unanimous among members present.
District staff framed the agreement as a response to low follow-through on community vision referrals. Assistant Superintendent Brooke Kensler told the board only four students completed outside follow-up last year after 124 referrals and said the MOU with Complete Family Eyecare will help families schedule appointments quickly and provide glasses when needed.
