Ron Deal Jr. said he is a Nashville native with a background in architecture law and experience working for the Tennessee Military Department and Nashville Soccer Club. "I do believe that the auditorium serves a vital function in this city," Deal said, stressing the venue’s role as a mid-sized, affordable option as Bridgestone Arena undergoes renovations. Eman Koshna, nominated by Councilwoman Zulfas Swara, said she grew up in Antioch, graduated from MTSU and from Municipal Auditorium; she highlighted her work with the American Muslim Advisory Council and youth leadership programming. Rick Rodriguez, founder of Lacada Productions, described bilingual outreach to Latino creators and said the commission could help boost representation: "We represent the Latino faces in the music business," he said.
Committee members asked nominees about experience and outreach; each nominee responded with specifics about community ties and intended contributions. The committee recorded affirmative votes to advance the nominees to the full council for final consideration.
