The Confirmations and Public Elections Committee approved a late-filed resolution on Aug. 4 to re-establish a participation agreement between the Metropolitan Department of Water and Sewage Services and 563 Veritas LLC for public water-service improvements tied to a proposed development in the area (Metro Water Services project 23WLOOAO; proposal 2025M018AG001). The chair read the late-filed resolution sponsored by Welch and Johnston and the committee moved to vote without pulling the item.
The committee’s interim director explained the practical need for the action: "In this case, there was a previous participation agreement between the Metropolitan government and this developer for part of public water services improvements. That participation agreement expired, and all parties in this case would like to put that in place again," the interim director said. The committee approved the resolution by voice vote, recorded as 5-0-0, advancing the agreement to the next steps for execution.
