Board recognizes district Spelling Bee winners

At the start of the May 14 meeting, the Governing Board publicly congratulated the winners of the district Spelling Bee and presented plaques to the top three students: 1st place Zadie Aguilar (Canyon Springs Community School), 2nd place Yuktha Saravana Kumar (Golden Oak Community School), and 3rd place Liam Flores (Mitchell Community School).
"The Board of Trustees congratulated the winners of the District's Spelling Bee Contest," the minutes state, noting trustees and staff praised the students' dedication and spelling skills. President Denis DeFigueiredo recessed the meeting at 7:10 PM following the recognition and the board resumed at 7:12 PM.
