Public comments press board: resident alleges property 'embezzlement,' another asks for tree trimming near Pine Hill wires

Two public comments drew strong attention. David Kimmel (speaker 3) used his time to make wide-ranging allegations about property records and financial channels, repeatedly calling for transparency and saying "what we have is embezzlement, market capital stolen from a map that was nefariously not kept up to date." He urged the board to identify who in town deals with mortgage companies and escrow and pressed for records and transparency; staff asked him to wrap up his remarks when he exceeded time.

Separately, Lindsey Laura (speaker 10), a Pine Hill Road resident, described large branches and trees overhanging wires and the road, saying, "There's actually a huge branch in the road, and I'm petrified to even, like, drive on that side of the road because it's over the wires and over the road," and requested town follow-up. Staff replied that Central Maine Power is the primary contact for line trimming and that the town would follow up to help coordinate.

Board members acknowledged both comments and the need for follow-up: for the safety concern staff said they would contact Central Maine Power and for the transparency/records allegation the public record did not show a board action in response at the meeting; the resident was urged to pursue specific records requests if he wished the town to locate documents.
