Utilities board approves $27,706 emergency repair to water-plant generator transfer switch

Utility staff reported that the water plant's generator transfer switch had failed, causing outages and control issues at the plant. Staff provided a final quote from Banta Electrical Contractors and said the repair is an emergency/maintenance item to be paid from the water budget.
"This will be a maintenance item and an emergency item, but the total amount is $27,706 to do an upgrade and repair to the, water treatment plant transfer switch for their generator," the director said. Council moved and the board approved the repair; staff said the cost will be covered by the water operating budget.
