Sartell-St. Stephen board declines venue change for May 31, 2025 graduation over availability and cost
Summary
Board considered The Hockey Center and River’s Edge as alternate graduation sites but found neither available for May 31, 2025 and estimated costs of $11,000–$13,000 made a switch infeasible for the 2024–25 year; the board agreed to consider alternatives for future years and possibly survey families.

Sartell-St. Stephen School District board members discussed securing a larger graduation venue but concluded a change is not feasible for the 2024–25 academic year.
During the Oct. 9 work session board members noted that "Neither of these venues are available on the graduation date that has been set already for May 31, 2025." They also discussed cost estimates: "The cost for these venues would be between $11,000 and $13,000." Given those constraints, the board decided to defer any venue change for this year and consider surveying families before making a future change.
The conversation identified two alternatives under consideration — The Hockey Center and River’s Edge — and focused on availability and budget implications. No formal motion to change the graduation site was made.
The board’s discussion did not set a timeline for a family survey; members said they would revisit the topic in a future meeting if they choose to pursue an alternate venue.
