Road Superintendent Todd Miller told commissioners the road crew hauled 30,579 yards and graveled 12.9 miles in recent work and reviewed a multi‑year project list for the next four to five years.
Miller described recent low‑water crossing repairs on the Hart River (a 42‑yard concrete pour by county crews), a bridge replacement north of Richardson, and an upcoming bridge in Bellfield slated to begin in October or November. He said county crews installed pipe runs (three 48‑inch and multiple 36‑inch pipes on different sites) and that True North Steel provided an extra protective coating on pipe material at no charge.
Miller said he and city and state officials discussed an interstate bridge at the Menards interchange and possible options ranging from deck repairs to roundabouts or lowering the interstate in the corridor. He said the city of Dickinson will take the lead on the Lehigh Drive/bridge replacement project and that state funding and design priorities will guide decisions.
Engineering consultant Andrew Krebs (KLJ) reported the roundabout project is at utility coordination and PS&E plan level and is targeting an early‑2027 bid opening; two chip seals have to be completed by Sept. 1.
