Sheriff Beavers presented the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office quarterly report for April through June 2026 and said the office is seeing an increase in property-crime recoveries and investigations. "All our property crimes and what we're recovering, it is really up," he said, adding: "We'll probably hit a little over 6,000,000 if we keep on the pass that we're doing now." The sheriff also described holding more state prisoners and raised a concern about providing wheelchairs to meet Texas Department of Criminal Justice transfer requirements.
Commissioners had no follow-up questions recorded in the transcript. Commissioner Crow moved to accept the report and Commissioner Phillips seconded; the court approved the acceptance by voice vote.
