Board approves preliminary FY27 budget, adopts election and MSHSL resolutions

The Yellow Medicine East School Board on June 8 approved revisions to the FY26 budget and approved the preliminary FY27 budget as presented. The budget motions were made by Matt Zempel and Sonja Pederson and were carried by the board.
In separate roll-call votes recorded as carried unanimously, the board adopted the 2026–27 Resolution for Membership in the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) and a resolution calling for the general election on November 3, 2026 to elect three school board members. The board also set the filing period for affidavits of candidacy as July 14–July 28, 2026.
