Board approves multiple OSBA elections and resolutions, including PRIDE caucus seat

At the Nov. 13 meeting, the Centennial SD 28J Governing Board unanimously approved a slate of Oregon School Boards Association (OSBA) items: candidates for OSBA Board positions 17 and 19, a resolution to amend the OSBA dues schedule, a resolution to create an OSBA Members PRIDE Caucus and designate a seat on the OSBA Board of Directors and Legislative Policy Committee, and proposed amendments to the 2023 OSBA bylaws.
The board discussed the dues-schedule resolution; Superintendent James Owens offered to invite an OSBA representative to brief the board on the change if members wanted more detail. Director William Mohring moved to approve the PRIDE caucus resolution; Director Melissa Standley seconded. Each motion was moved and seconded and passed by unanimous vote.
No dissenting remarks were recorded in the meeting minutes. The approvals will be forwarded as the district’s positions to OSBA and recorded in the district’s meeting minutes.
