Board adopts STAR as interim assessment under SB 141 for fall 2026

Superintendent Helena Chirinian told the board that Senate Bill 141 requires districts to select one approved interim assessment vendor and that the district selected STAR assessments for kindergarten through eighth grade. Chirinian said STAR provides math and reading measures that take about 20 minutes per subject and will be used to show student growth over time beginning in fall 2026.
The board voted to approve the Interim Test Adoption Plan (STAR) after a motion by Alan Nidiffer and a second by Janece Payne; the motion passed 4-0 with all present board members voting aye.
