Bruce Raleigh, the district's Director of Technology, presented an overview of the Technology Department's staffing and projects. He said the district is completing the first year of a five-year contract with Beacon Broadband for a 2GB fiber connection, has implemented redundant connections and high-availability switching to allow automatic failover, and maintains PowerSchool support through South Coast ESD.
Raleigh outlined cybersecurity and device plans, noting deployment of CrowdStrike Falcon Complete, Falcon Exposure Management, and Cloudflare Secure Web Gateway on district devices with the goal of full implementation by the start of the next school year. He also said the department is awaiting final E-Rate approvals and planning a new district phone system and summer installations.
