Brookings-Harbor board recognizes BHHS Culinary Club as district expands hospitality pathway

The Brookings-Harbor School Board recognized students from the Brookings-Harbor High School Culinary Club during its May 20 regular meeting. Board members heard that the club provided hands-on learning opportunities—including desserts prepared for Teacher Appreciation Week—and has engaged approximately 15 to 20 students during flex time.
School leaders told the board the club has created a positive environment that brings together students from different groups and that the district is developing a hospitality/restaurant Career and Technical Education pathway for the 2026-2027 school year to build on the club's work. The district has hired a teacher with hospitality experience and will use existing kitchen and makerspace areas to support the pathway.
