Superintendent highlights student achievements; National Merit semifinalist named

Superintendent Dr. Renee Corneille used her School Board Brief on Oct. 1 to reflect on district achievements and recent activities, and noted work on student-centered learning and administration–union relations.
Principal Norman Bell announced National Merit recognition: semi-finalist Harry Cohan and commended finalists Scarlett Cannon, Peyton Gould and Bergen Hall. Activities staff Dr. Troy Urdahl and Zach Siggelkow named Student Council and Captains Council representatives Caitlyn Rosha, Dylan Held, Lincoln Urdahl and Josie Bossen. High School teacher Miranda Schultz presented members of HOSA: Soneti Andea, Sebastian Guachichulca, Carly Stendahl and Tryphena Asare.
The board paused for a 10-minute communications break after the recognitions. The transcript records names and honors but does not include acceptance remarks from students.
