The St. Anthony-New Brighton Schools Board of Education voted unanimously Oct. 1 to appoint Dr. PJ Striker to an open board seat.
Director Laura Oksnevad nominated Dr. PJ Striker, and Michael Overman seconded the motion. The board passed a resolution confirming the appointment “Be it resolved that PJ Striker is now appointed as a school board member,” and recorded a 5–0 roll-call of ayes. The resolution states the appointment will be effective in 30 days and the board noted the swearing-in is scheduled for the Nov. 6, 2024 meeting.
The nomination followed a review of two applications collected between Sept. 25 and Oct. 1, using a rubric compiled by Chair Ben Phillip. The board discussed rubric results before voting. The Oct. 1 action fills the vacancy pending the procedural effective date and the Nov. 6 swearing-in; no dissenting votes were recorded.
