Board adopts 2026–27 school calendar and approves choir trip to University of Washington

The Cascade School District board approved the 2026–27 academic calendar and unanimously approved a High School Choir Director trip to a University of Washington workshop Feb. 26–27, 2026.
The Board approved the 2026–2027 school calendar as presented. The calendar—shared with certified and classified staff—recommends starting school before Labor Day in September 2026 so that the school year does not extend into late June 2027.
The Board also approved an out-of-state trip request for the High School Choir Director to attend a workshop at the University of Washington in Seattle from Feb. 26–27, 2026. The choir trip motion (moved by Ruth Stevens and seconded by Aaron Lee) carried unanimously.
Board members discussed calendar timing and instructional implications; no changes to the presented calendar were made.
