Cascade School District appoints Patie Taylor to vacant board seat

Taylor was one of two applicants interviewed by the board. In her interview she said she graduated from Cascade and that all her children have attended Cascade schools. The board noted Taylor’s nonprofit leadership experience, including strategic planning and personnel decisions, as strengths during their deliberation. The board used paper ballots for the appointment; Spencer Rockwell spoke his vote aloud to be recorded before Chair Stegall tallied the ballots.
Christopher Clark, the other applicant, described his volunteer work at Turner Elementary and support for the district’s pending bond measure but was not chosen. The board adjourned the meeting at 6:40 p.m. No additional procedural steps (such as an oath or effective date) were specified in the minutes.
