Morgan County extends moratorium on legacy PUDs and MXD‑3 zoning for 120 days

At the July 21 work session, Chuck Jarrell asked the Board to extend a moratorium—previously approved for 90 days—on Planned Unit Developments governed by the county's Jan. 1, 1999 zoning regulations and on developments in the Community Mixed Use (MXD‑3) district. Jarrell said the extension would give staff time to meet with a select group of residents and refine proposed ordinance revisions before sending them to the Planning Commission and Board for consideration.
Commissioner Philipp von Hanstein moved to approve a 120‑day extension; Commissioner Nathan Park seconded. The motion was approved unanimously. County staff will pursue resident outreach and will return proposed revisions for formal review.
