The Corvallis School District Board on April 16 adopted two resolutions supporting the City of Corvallis' property tax‑exemption programs to satisfy Oregon Revised Statute requirements.
City Housing and Neighborhoods Services Manager Brigetta Olson and Economic Development Manager Christopher Jacobs told the board that although the district reviewed a 2023 report on the programs, the formal ORS‑required resolutions were not adopted at that time and the City Attorney identified the procedural oversight. Director Judah Largent moved to adopt Resolution No. 26‑0401 supporting the Multiple‑Unit Property Tax Exemption under ORS 307.600–307.637; Director Sami Al‑Abdrabbuh seconded. The board voted 7–0 in favor.
Director Sami Al‑Abdrabbuh then moved to adopt Resolution No. 26‑0402 supporting the Low‑Income Rental Property Tax Exemption under ORS 307.515–307.537 and ORS 307.540–307.548. Director Judah Largent seconded; the motion passed unanimously, 7–0. The board recorded the votes as: Al‑Abdrabbuh, Hawkins, Jones, Largent, Tominey, Wang, and Whitebear — all voting "Yea."
Why it matters: the formal resolutions align the district's record with state statutory requirements and follow a similar unanimous approval by the Benton County Board of Commissioners. The board packet will archive the resolutions with the 2025‑26 official records.
What’s next: the adopted resolutions resolve the procedural omission identified by the City Attorney; no fiscal details or ordinance changes by the district were specified in the meeting record.
